About The Event

Suitable for 2 - 8 people.

Tour description:

The tour starts at Bristol Temple Meads train station. On your way between the five breweries, of which you'll be given the back-story of each one, you'll learn interesting facts about the buildings and areas you pass by and be given a little beer based knowledge. The tour also gives the choice to stop and enjoy a pint in a beer garden at an award-winning traditional pub, owned by a Bristol brewery.

You'll have a table booked at Moor brewery tap room, the second stop along the route.  Here you'll each enjoy three different third pints of delicious beers made on the premises included. A lovely member of staff to talk you through them and answer any questions you have about the brewery.  You'll also be given a bag with a Bristol Hoppers branded pen and paper (use for noting your favourite beers of the day or just for a game, like naughts and crosses) and some snacks to eat while walking the rest of your tour.

So that you can plan future beer adventures in Bristol, you'll be given the story behind several other breweries that are not quite on the route, and how to reach them. Your audio tour guide (me, Heather) will also give you tips on some later night drinking venues close to the end of the tour.

There's enough stops and advice to keep you entertained for more than one day, so you can choose to stop the tour and finish it another day if you wish.

  • Most of the beers being poured along this route will be vegan.
  • Well behaved dogs are welcome everywhere.
  • Children are welcome in most of the venues before 8pm.

Why an audio tour?

My passion for sharing things about Bristol's fascinating past and introducing people to our craft beer scene is huge. These audio tours give you more information than you'd get on a guided tour, as there's no need to stop all the time to gather a group - I (Heather) can talk to you as you walk. Using your location, the clever app that's used plays audio automatically, at exactly the right time and place. You can walk at your own pace and have as many beer stops as you like without being rushed along or having to look at your phone.

How it works:

On booking, you'll receive a unique code and instructions on how to download the tour on the VoiceMap platform (you will need to have an Android or i-phone with the ability to download an app). Your code accesses the tour, which you can download in advance to use maps offline if you like. Once the tour is downloaded it will stay on your phone forever, so if you want to take it over a few different days then it has that flexibility.

To take the tour you will need:

  • A set of headphones.
  • A smartphone.
  • To check and follow Covid 19 rules that are in place on the day you take your tour. (facemasks at times, track and trace, group sizes, etc)
  • To be over the age of eighteen and be able to provide ID if requested. Please drink responsibly.

Timings:

Your included guided beer tasting at Moor brewery is booked for one hour after your start time. This allows for around twenty minutes of walking and enough time to check out Bristol's newest brewpub on the way.  It also means that if you are running late or would rather follow the tour without stopping before your tasting, you can start up to 40 minutes later than the time you book.

The amount of time you spend taking the whole tour will depend on how much beer you'll have and your drinking speed.
