About The Event

Audio Tour description:

On your way between the five breweries, of which you'll be given the back-story of each one, you'll learn interesting facts about the buildings and areas you pass by and be given a little beer based knowledge. The tour also gives the choice to stop and enjoy a pint in a beer garden at an award-winning traditional pub, owned by a Bristol brewery.

At the second stop (Moor brewery), about a fifteen minute walk from the start point, your brewery tour will begin at 12.30. Here you'll enjoy three different third pints of delicious beers made on the premises, see and learn all about and see how your beer was made and the story behind the brewery . They'll also hand you a bag of snacks to enjoy on the rest of your walk.

You'll need to begin the audio tour at Bristol Temple Meads by 11.45am to allow time for a quick half at the first stop, Bristol's newest brewpub) on the audio tour. Or, you could start your tour just after midday and not stop at the brewpub on the way to your brewery tour.

THE SIX NATIONS IS ON TODAY. If you'd like to watch a game, you can book at  table at Moor to watch the game. Please click here to visit their website to book a table (£5 a head with pint included) and you can stick around after your brewery tour to watch it.

So that you can plan future beer adventures in Bristol, you'll be given the story behind several other breweries that are not quite on the route, and how to reach them. Your audio tour guide (me) will also give you tips on some later night drinking venues close to the end of the tour.

There's enough stops and advice to keep you entertained for more than one day, so if you have the time, plan to take the tour as two parts over a weekend or two. Do not try to have a drink everywhere in one day!

Why an audio tour?

My passion for sharing things about Bristol's fascinating past and introducing people to our craft beer scene is huge. These audio tours give you more information than you'd get on a guided tour, as there's no need to stop all the time to gather a group - I (Heather) can talk to you as you walk. Using your location, the clever app that's used plays audio automatically, at exactly the right time and place. You can walk at your own pace and have as many beer stops as you like without being rushed along or having to look at your phone.

How it works:

On booking, you'll receive an email with your unique code and instructions on how to download the audio tour on the VoiceMap platform (you will need to have an Android or i-phone with the ability to download an app). Your code accesses the audio tour, which you can download in advance to use maps offline if you like. Once the tour is downloaded it will stay on your phone forever, so if you want to take it over a few different days then it has that flexibility.

The amount of time you spend taking the whole tour will depend on how much beer you'll have and your drinking speed.

To take the audio tour you will need:

  • A set of headphones.
  • A smartphone with either an Android or iPhone operating system to be able to download the app.
  • To check and follow Covid 19 rules that are in place on the day you take your tour. (facemasks at times, track and trace, group sizes, etc)
  • To be over the age of eighteen and be able to provide ID if requested. Please drink responsibly.

**Please note**  This date has just been released and the brewery tour will only go ahead if a minimum of four people are booked on. In the unlikely event that there are not enough bookings (will only occur if your group is smaller than four), I will contact you two weeks before to offer a different date, refund or partial refund if you'd like to still take the audio tour and guided tasting.
